Randel has been a principal in the local design-build profession since 1985 and is a 4th generation Tucsonan with family roots dating back to 1890. Randel graduated from Sabino High School in Tucson in 1983 then obtained his Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Arizona in 1989.
"I love architecture and building because it is like being a kid again; I get to finger paint in the morning and play in the sandbox all afternoon! Growing up in the desert with parents who favored reading over TV, I got the time and space to discover and experience the raw elements of the desert. Through it’s stark beauty and chaos, I find peace and a continued inspiration to make my mark worthy of this amazing setting"
In the year 2000 Randel formed Randel Jacob Design Group, PLLC, a successful architecture and construction firm, which, under Randel’s guidance, has completed over 130 design and construction projects ranging from complex residential projects, to the planning and feasibility of large scale commercial development.
As a part of his interest in community growth, Randel has also been involved in private efforts to return a vibrant film making economy as well as an international and professional baseball baseball economy back to the Tucson area, using the resources and skill sets anchored in the design and building disciplines.
Randel's deep passion and love for Tucson, as well as for architecture, film and baseball, has allowed Randel to branch into these different endeavors which share a very common mission :
To return excitment, uniqueness and a sustainable economy back to our wonderful city.

These three business and community efforts have rekindled Randel’s childhood memories and his faith in a unique and vibrant Tucson. For Randel, Tucson's calendar started every February, a time when the Rodeo came to town, the golf tournaments were played, pitchers and catchers reported for spring baseball, and when a movie crew closing a street was a fairly common sight - and people came from all over the world to participate in these unique experiences.
Tucson held that promise every February for many years. Randel looks forward to revitalizing these lost economies and sharing a new and revitalized excitment with a a new generation of Tucsonans that have a personal stake in the success of these economies.
Randel has been deeply involved locally with amateur sports, leadership positions at his church for over ten years, a member of Los Charros Del Desierto, a member of the Independent Film Association of Southern Arizona, a volunteer at Carondelet St Joseph’s Hospital, a member of the Tucson Museum of Art, The Arizona Historical Society, certified by The National Council of Architectural Review Boards, and a member of the Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association, Board Member of St Augustine Catholic High School.
Randel currently resides in Tucson with his wife Tammi, daughter Hannah, son Ellis, and two dogs, Yuma and Sonoita.
